CONSTITUTION AND BY-LAWS

Establishment

    A fishing club to be known as ____________________________________________ is hereby established. The mailing address of the Club shall be as follows_____________

Membership

    Membership is open to anyone between the ages of ___________________________.  All must be a member of B.A.S.S. (optional)

     

Dues

    Dues shall be collected annually at the rate of _________ per year, payable in ________________      for the following year.

 

Board of Directors

     The Board of Directors shall consist of _________ elected posts:

        • President
        • Vice President (optional)
        • Secretary
        • Treasurer (optional)
        • Tournament Director

    The Board is elected annually in November of each year by the membership by secret ballot. Only members in good standing may vote or hold office as a member of the Board.

    Section III: The Club may, by by-law and properly approved, provide and maintain a fund for rendering mutual aid and assistance to its sick, disabled and  needy members and there families or families of deceased members.  Approval of such funds shall state the manner in which, and by whom, such funds are to be  expended.

 

Meetings

    The Club will hold its regular meetings

    Meetings of the Board of Directors will be held when necessary one week prior to the regular meetings. 

 

Order of Business

    The following shall comprise the order of business and meeting procedure at all Regular meetings:

 

        1. Call to order

        2. Roll call of officers

        3. Roll call of members

        4. Reading of previous month's minutes

        5. Discussion of the month's Federation meeting

        6. Treasurer's report

        7. Committee reports

        8. Old business

        9. New business

        10. Adjournment

 

Board

    I. President

      1. The President shall preside over all meetings of the Club, enforcing the rules and by-laws, and keeping to the Rules of Order.

      2. Appointment of Committees: The President is empowered to appoint members to committees to meet the needs and functions of the Club.

      3. Disbursement of Funds: The President is to countersign checks drawn and signed by the Treasurer as per Section II of the Article titled Club Funds.

 

    II. Secretary

      1. Recorder: The Secretary shall record all proceedings and relevant information at all regular and Board of Directors meetings.

 

    III. Tournament Director

      1. The Tournament Director shall be responsible for the writing of the tournament rules annually and the interpretation of those rules.

      2. He shall distribute copies of those rules to the membership no later than the regularly scheduled meeting prior to the first yearly tournament. He shall suggest a tournament schedule to the body.

      3. He shall record weights of all fish caught by each member at all Tournaments and shall measure any questionable fish for legal length. Decisions of the Tournament Director in such matters are final.

      4. He shall declare the winners of each tournament.

       

Article I

In the event that this Club disbands, all monies and/or property of the Club will be given to one or more charities which the Members will vote on.
